Removable orthodontic therapy

Removable orthodontic therapy

Removable orthodontic therapy is usually the first part of the treatment with children, while it has very few applications for adults (e.g. retention).

Free active plate is used for minimal corrections of dental arch width and to direct the regular growth of teeth during dentition (teething).

Twin block is used in the first stage of the orthodontic therapy of patients between 8 and 12 years of age with class II anomalies (lower jaw smaller than the upper jaw or open bite). The treatment lasts 18 to 36 months. The best results are achieved if the appliance is removed for meals and cleaning only.
